Playing Petz 2 in 2026

How To Play
I managed to get the game to run on my Windows 10 PC by using Acid Trip's P2 installation files (after setting the compatability settings for the installer to Windows 95 and 16 bit colour), then right clicking the Petz 2 exe and doing the same. It will crash, mine has only ever crashed mid-game once, after running for several hours, but will sometimes crash when I close the game. Other people find it is completely unplayable. Dropping the exe onto windevdm (link on my Oddballz page) the first time you run it may help, but I can't guarantee it.

Running this on a virtual machine may give you better results, but I try to avoid anything more complicated than winevdm so I can't help with that.

I will be trying to install Petz 2 on my Windows 11 laptop at some point in the future, if that's successful I'll try to update this with a better step by step for how I, personally, get the game to work 99% of the time.

please keep in mind Petz 2 is incredibly unstable on modern computers, whilst my game runs very well most users report the opposite; as I don't have access to their computers I don't know what the differences are so can't troubleshoot this unfortunately!
